Don't watch the Kids in the Hall boxed set unless you want to feel very frustrated. Why frustrated? Watching some of their early stage shows included on the disk (which take place on a stage that looks disconcertingly like the Underground) was enough to get even Brooke to say "Yeah, some of what you guys did was funnier than them." And then you look at what they became and...well, the mind boggles.
If anyone can think of a mechanism by which a select group can write sketch comedy together whilst spread across the country, I'd love to hear about it. Meanwhile, I'm assembling in my head the all-star Slow Kids TV cast. What would yours be?
