Like a lot of you today, I'm sure (if anyone still reads this) I've gone through a lot of mood swings. Sadness. Anger. Disappointment. Anger. Confusion. Anger. More anger. But I keep coming back to anger. I hear the same sentiments voiced over and over - we don't want to be a part of this nation anymore.
I understand it. Hell, I feel it. I can't imagine four more years like the last four, but worse. I can't imagine my fellow Americans who desired it. And I wish that there was a way for like-minded people to bond together and form our own nation where we can govern like we wish.
It's a nice thought but, if only for geography, it's not going to happen. We are a part of this nation, and now we've shown the rest of the world that we want a maniac to lead us, that we want a theocracy that caters to the craziest and most extreme religious zealots. That we're so afraid of giving women rights, and of allowing people of the same sex to express love for each other. That we will hand the keys to the greatest democracy in the world over to a madman. All the keys.
They control the Executive. They control the Legislative, now more than before. Soon they'll control the Judicial. Checks and balances are out the window.
It's up to us now.
We'll be the checks and balances. We'll be the accountable media. We'll take back our country somehow, because we have to. Let's take the emotion we're all feeling and do something with it. I don't know what, yet, but we have to think of something. It's up to the people now.
Hang in there, folks.
